National Library Week
The National Library Week Committee is in charge of coordinating the yearly National Library Week Festivities in the month of April.
This event was previously held at Ward Warehouse. Literacy related activities were set up, a stage held performances by participating school groups and many school librarians were on hand to assist children at the tables and to help promote the love of reading!
HASL changed its venue in 2006 by partnering with Bess Press and sponsored a booth at the first annual Book and Music Festival on the lawn of Honolulu Hale. There were several stages with performances, author signing and vendor ware. It was an enjoyable day!
